And a marvellous new bookshop, Beyond Words Bookshop in Keith, South Australia, is officially open! Congratulations to Sally Lush on this wonderful new chapter of her life, and my big thanks for inviting me to be part of her lovely friends/family/booklovers-filled event at the Keith Institute on Thursday night. (There were too many of us (100 + people) to fit in the actual bookshop itself.) Sally’s musician daughter Megan entertained everyone on arrival, and Sally had turned the Institute into a re-creation of her bookshop, and also Snorkel Bay, the setting for my children’s book Marcie Gill and the Caravan Park Cat, complete with gorgeous caravan-style Christmas lights. If you’re in the Keith area, please do make the time to visit Beyond Words in Hender Street. Sally has created a true haven and treasure trove for booklovers, young and old.
