A Marvellous Teacher

Fifty years ago, my grade 4 teacher at St Joseph’s in Clare, South Australia, Sister Margaret Mary Murphy, asked each of us to write a short book over the school holidays. As the attached article from 2009 explains, that homework assignment set many special things in train for me, and planted a seed that one day I might be a ‘real’ writer. I was sad to hear the news that Sister Margaret Mary has died, at the marvellous age of 92. I know I am just one of many of her students who was inspired and encouraged by her. RIP, Sister Margaret Mary, and thank you again.
