Australian tour for Hello from the Gillespies, October 2014
I’m now back home in Dublin after my four week ‘Hello from the Gillespies’ tour of Australia in October. I enjoyed every minute of it and want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.
Firstly, my warmest thanks to all the readers, booksellers and librarians who came to and hosted my talks right around Australia, in Hobart, Launceston, Gisborne, Beaumaris, Aireys Inlet, Camberwell, Canberra, Cairns, Port Douglas, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Mt Gambier, Minlaton, Kadina, Clare and finally Hawker in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia, the main setting for the novel. Thank you all so much – it was wonderful to get to meet and talk to so many of you.
Big thanks too to all the journalists and radio announcers who interviewed me, and to the great team at ABC TV’s Book Club for welcoming me back.
Many thanks to everyone at my publishers Penguin Australia, especially my publicity managers Chantelle Sturt and Alysha Farry, my publisher Ali Watts and all the brilliant Penguin team, for all they do for me and my books.
Special thanks to all the readers who sent lovely messages via my website and Facebook throughout the tour, and made me feel so welcome back home in Australia.
I hope you’ll enjoy this gallery of photos from the tour. If you’d like to see more, please do visit my Facebook page and scroll back through to my October posts.
